Heirs by will were his wife Mary, son Zephaniah and daughters Affy Whitsel, Polly and Kitty Drake. Personal property purchases included Thomas Whitsel and Zephaniah Whitsel. Sr.'s executors were Abraham VanCourtright Drake and Thomas Whitsel. Jr. was deceased by 1846; wife was Nancy. Administrators were Abraham VanCourtright Drake and Thomas Whitsel. Uncle Zephania, step-son to our grandfather, and half brother to the Courtright children, Uncle John and Uncle Jesse, were married and had children before they left Pennsylvania. The names of their parents I never knew. The maiden names of their wives I don't know but their first names were: Aunt Mary (Polly), Uncle Z's wife; the first names of John and Jesse's wives were Sarah, and we used to call Uncle John's wife. nursing home. She had been in failing health. Born April 9. 1915, in
Defiance, she was the daughter of the late Carl W. and Bertha (Manley)
Foore. She was united in marriage to Chester Leroy Lynn Aug. 23, 1933,
in Cumberland, Md. He preceded her in death March 10, 1973. Two sons,
Carl A. Lynn of Orangeville and David L. Lynn of Beach Haven Park. N.J.,
survive. There are five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A twin
sister, Mary Wilkins of Fairless Hills, survives. A 1932 graduate of
Broad Top High School, Mrs. Lynn attended the Fairless Hills United
Methodist Church. She was primarily a homemaker. Funeral services will
be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 a.m., at the D. Ronald Long Funeral
Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor John Robinson officiating. Interment will be
made in the Grandview Cemetery, Saxton, R.D. [Huntingdon Daily News Obituaries, October 2000, Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Ken Boon].

Irene Mae Foor, 82, of 840 Beech Ave., died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998 in Findlay.
She was born Nov. 30, 1915 in Hancock County to William and Myrtle (Charles) Krauss. She married Marion F. Foor on June 5, 1943, and he died May 29, 1968.
Surviving are a brother, Don Krauss, rural Findlay; and a sister, Alberta Krauss, Findlay.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Krauss; and three sisters, Lorraine Davis and two infants, Edna Krauss and Berdell Krauss.
Mrs. Foor was a housekeeper and a former employee of the former Long's Bakery, Findlay.
She had been a member of First Lutheran Church since 1920. She also was a member of the Millstream Mailbag Club, the Upbeat Widows and Widowers support group, the Senior Center and Women of the Moose.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Mark Brodbeck officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Senior Center, 423 Trenton Ave.; or to First Lutheran Church, 109 E. Lincoln St.

Abstract: Miss Lucille Bowman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Bowman of Lithopolis and Mr. Samuel Snyder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Snyder, also of Lithopolis, were married at the home of the bride's parents, Tuesday afternoon, June 11, on the bride's 23rd birthday. Families of the bride and groom were present for the ceremony which was read by Rev. Vernon Ridenour of Canal Winchester Lutheran church. Following the ceremony the couple left for a short wedding trip.

OBIT: Samuel H. Snyder, age 84, of Lithopolis, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Valley View Nursing Home.
He was the owner and operator of Snyder's Flowers in Lithopolis for over 40 years, a member of the David Evangelical Lutheran Church, a founding member of the Lithopolis American Legion Post # 677, Lithopolis Lodge # 169 F. & A. M., and was a WW II United States Navy veteran.
Sam is survived by his wife of 62 years Lucille, daughter, Anne Blackwell, granddaughter Tori Starner (T.J. Wildermuth), all of Canal Winchester, great-grandchildren Lexi and Cameron Starner, sisters and brother-in-law Glenna & Bill Crook, of Amanda, Annabelle Kocher, of Fairborn, Ohio., and several nieces and nephews. Also, his constant companion and beloved pet, ''SNOOPY''.
He was preceded in death by his son William K. Snyder, parents L.A. and Viola Snyder, and son-in-law James R. Blackwell.
Friends may visit 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, where funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, with Pastor Roger Lawrence officiating. Interment Lithopolis Cemetery.
Masonic service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

WELLS TANNERY, Pa. - Jean F. Souders, 79, of West Tannery Road, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born May 2, 1929, in Hopewell, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Myrtle Foor Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rankin A. Souders, in 2003. They were marred Aug. 27, 1948.
She had been employed by the Holiday Inn and the Ramada Inn in Breezewood, Pa., in the housekeeping department.
She was a Presbyterian.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy J. Grace and Patty L. Lyon, both of Wells Tannery; eight siblings, Dorcas Cypher of Johnstown, Pa., Edith Wineland, Thomas Wright and Jerry Wright, all of Martinsburg, Pa., Beatrice Taylor of Roaring Spring, Pa., Mary Ann Meetze of New Paris, Pa., Robert Wright of Bedford, Pa., and Joseph Wright of Six Mile Run, Pa.; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Wright and Stanley Wright Jr.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home in Hustontown, Pa. Pastor Kim Swindell will officiate. Burial will be in Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home, which will open Monday at 2 p.m.
