NAME/DOB/DOD/POBurial: "Cemeteries of Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH", Fairfield County Gen. Soc., Chapter OGS, 1996, p 242-243. Next-of-kin listed for Charles Hulshy is "Mary Ann Hulshy". NOK listed for Mary A. Hulshy is Charles Hulshy. Buried first addition, lot 55, grave 6.
DOD: Fairfield Co., Ohio, probate deaths. Listed as Mary A. Hulshy, died October 16, 1875 at 62y. Resided and died in Bloom township. Born in PA. Farmer's wife. Died of dropsey.
NOTE: Although the name appears as ILER in the 1850 census, there is a Mary Ann Koch who married Jacob C. Oyler 07 Sep 1848 in Fairfield Co., Ohio. I think her married name would've actually been OYLER, which also explains the disappearance of "Benjamin Iler" (shown as a Hulshy in 1860) in 1870, but DOES explain the sudden appearance of a Benjamin Oyler in 1870.

_Peter HAY _________+ | |--Edwin R. HAY | |_Christina PLATTER _
[11010]
NAME/POB/DOB: From Linda Smith, markhsmith@excelonline.com, via email February 2000.
EDWIN R. HAY, farmer and stock raiser, P. O. Findlay, was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, March 15, 1830, son of Peter and Christians (Platter) Hay, both of whom are of direct descent from German people. Our subject was reared to farming, with which he was successfully connected in Fairfield County, Ohio, until 1870, when he came to this county and subsequently took up his present property in Findlay Township, which he has very handsomely improved. Mr. Hay married, in this county, Angelicia, second daughter of Amos and Abigail (Bigelow) Frisbie, who settled in this county in 1865. Airs. Hay departed this life in 1879, leaving two children: Abigail and Charles. Of the remaining family of Mr. Frisbie only one daughter survives-Celestia-who has hover married; she assists her brother-in-law, our subject, in the charge of her sister's family. Edwin R. Hay is a public-spirited citizen and a clever business man. He has always held aloof from public office, but has done his share for the public good when called upon. At the breaking out of the war of the Rebellion he enlisted in Company A, Sixty-first Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, in which he held a lieutenancy during his term of service. Mr. Hay is a liberal contributor to measures advancing the public welfare. He is a kind and indulgent father and a worthy gentleman. In politics he is a Democrat. "HISTORY OF HANCOCK COUNTY, OHIO", Warner, Beers & CO., 1886, p 754.
