[7308]
In "Family Tree Maker Family Archives, Marriage Index: Ohio 1851-1900", CD #236, it shows "David" as his first name.

BIOGRAPHY OF DANIEL STRUCKMAN
DANIEL STRUCKMAN, one of the leading and enterprising farmers and stock-raisers of Fulton County, was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, Sept. 29, 1838, and is a son of Henry and Sophia (Ebright) Struckman, natives of Germany, who emigrated to the United States about 1830 and settled in Fairfield County, Ohio, where the father died at about fifty-five years and the mother at the advanced age of eighty-two years. The subject of this review is the fourth in a family of nine children, of whom four are living at this date, 1896. He was raised upon the farm and was a student at the early slab-seated school house in Fairfield County, Ohio. In 1860 he began farming upon his own responsibility in his native county, where he continued for four years, or until 1864, when he came to Fulton County and settled where he now resides. He first erected a log cabin, 16x20 feet, which was burned a few years later, and he then put up a frame structure, which was about the same size, and about eight years ago he built his present home. About eleven years ago his first good barn was erected and two years later it was struck by lightning and together with some thirty tons of hay was completely destroyed and he then built his present barn. When Mr. Struckman settled upon this land it was almost one continuous forest. He has cleared 180 acres and now owns 221 acres of fine land, all of which is located about three miles northeast of Rochester. In 1862 Mr. Struckman was united in marriage to Miss Samantha Fenstermaker, who was born in Ohio. To this union are these two children, viz.: Florence, now Mrs. Frank Carr, and William H. Politically, Mr. Stuckman is a supporter of the democratic party. He is a progressive farmer and it would be better for Fulton County if she had more such men wihin her borders.

[29533] This entire STUCKEY family is very confusing. It appears their last name was once LEHN or LANE.

Ship: Caspian, arrived 03 Apr 1847 in New York, NY. Port of Departure: Le Havre, France. Ancestry.com. New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: The Generations Network, Inc., 2006.
LEHN, Mathias, 40y
", Catharina, 40y
", Louis, 16y
", Carolina, 12y
", Peter, 9y <-- Peter Stuckey?
", Charletta?, 7y female
", Nicolas, 5y <-- Nicholas Stuckey?
", Sophia, 3y <-- Sophia Stuckey?

CENSUS: 1850 Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH
LANE, Mathias, 43y laborer b Germany, $105 real estate
", Mary, 45y b Germany
", Nicholas, 12y b Germany, attended school <<-- Nicholas Stuckey?
", Sophia, 11y b Germany, attended school <<--Sophia Stuckey?

1854 - Mathias Lehn and Catharine Bart, marriage license Oct. 4, 1854, "crossed out, apparently not issued". "Fairfield County, Ohio Marriages, V III, 1852-1868", Fairfield Co., Ohio, Chapter OGS, 2006.

The above marriage -- or license that was never issued -- note the maiden name of "Catharine Bart". In Nicholas Stuckey's death certificate, his father's name is listed as Jacob Stuckey, and mother as Catherine "Barth".

In 1861, the parents listed for a Sarah "Sackretter" were Heinrich Sackreiter & Sophia Lahn. Sophia Lehn/Lane is in the 1850 census shown above. The marriage for Henry Sackriter and Sophia Stuckey occurred in Fairfield Co., OH. At first, I thought perhaps that Stuckey was a prior married name for Sophia, but I can find no Stukey's in Fairfield Co., Ohio in 1850 that were born overseas. Most of the Stuckey's (Stookey) in Fairfield Co. at that time were all born in OH and two were born in about 1770 and 1784 in PA. Bios and newspaper extracts often show that Sophia Sackriter was a sister to mentioned Stuckey's.

It is uncanny how Nicholas and Sophia LANE/LEHN fit so neatly into the same info as Nicholas and Sophia STUCKEY do. Where one family (the Lane's) leave off and mysteriously disappear, the Stuckey's take up. And there's no sign of Nicholas and Sophia Stuckey during the same time frame as Nicholas and Sophia Lane.

[27807] NAME/DOB/DOD: Names appear to all be on one stone:
WEISER, Angeline, born June 5, 1867, died June 6, 1867, aged 1d
Hattie D., born July 27, 1874, died Aug. 5, 1875
Jessie L., born July 27, 1874, died May 25, 1875.
"Cemeteries of Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH", Fairfield County Gen. Soc., Chapter OGS, 1996, p 35.

Because these children would not appear on any censues, I can't locate their parents. However, in reviewing the Weiser info I do have, there is one mother in the 1900 census who shows she had 9 children but only 6 living. Although parentage is not confirmed on these children, it's a great possibility that they are linked to the correct parents.
