Guy O. Alspach
Guy ALSPACH, 75, former prominent Rochester businessman passed away 9:30 p.m. Thursday in a hospital at Fulton, Mo. He suffered a stroke of paralysis on Wednesday, Sept. 20, and failed to rally. Mr. and Mrs. Alspach moved to their new home at 110 West 7th street, Fulton, Mo., just a month ago. For over two score of years they resided at 1009 Main street, this city.
For many years Mr. Alspach was engaged in the retail shoe business in Rochester and also operated a chain of shoe stores throughout northern Indiana. Upon retiring from the shoe business he was employed as coal salesman and traveled throughout Indiana and adjacent states. Ill health forced his retirement about two years ago.
Guy Ora [ALSPACH], son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester ALSPACH was born April 29, 1875 on a farm near Rochester. All of his life was spent in this community. He was married to Daisy BELL in a ceremony pronounced in Logansport a number of years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Alspach took an active interest in all of the religious, civic and social affairs in this community during their long rsidency in Rochester.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. George [D.] [Mary Jane] DUNCAN, [Jr.] and three grandchildren, all of Fulton, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Charles ROBBINS, of this city, and two nephews, Orbra and Hubert TAYLOR, also of Rochester.
The body is expected to arrive at the Zimmerman Bros. funeral home early Saturday morning and graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Rev. H. Gordon HYDE of the Baptist church will officiate. Mrs. Alspach, who has been in ill health for the past several months, will be unable to attend the rites here. Mr. and Mrs. George [D.] DUNCAN, [Jr.] are accompanying the body to Rochester.

JOHN D. BISHOP.
John D. Bishop, a well known and progressive agriculturist of Madison township, is a native son of this county, having been born on the farm where he still resides. In 1807 John Bishop, an uncle of Jacob Bishop, the father of our subject, located on the farm which was the birthplace of Jacob Bishop and also of John D. Bishop and which is now owned and occupied by the latter. The property comprises one hundred and eighty-seven and a half acres and the deed thereto was signed by Andrew Jackson. Jacob Bishop, whose birth occurred in 1812, passed away in 1883, in the faith of the Baptist church. In politics he was a Jacksonian democrat and took an active interest in public affairs, serving as assessor for several years and also as land appraiser for some time. He was recognized throughout the community as a man of sound judgment and keen discrimination and his advice was as freely given as it was sought. His wife, whose natal year was 1822, bore the maiden name of Catharine Ordell. Unto this worthy couple were born the following children: Mary, Henry, John D., Edson, Catharine, Sydney, Irene and Minnie, now living; and George and Louisa, who have passed away.

Rites Are Held - Funeral Held Today for William Flegel of Bucyrus - Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Henderson and Lutz funeral home for William Harry Flegel, 79, retired N.Y.C. railroad employee, who died at his home, 526 Gay Street, Thursday afternoon. Burial was made in Oakwood Cem. The deceased has no close relatives, his wife having preceded him in death in 1934. One son was killed in the World war. Mr. Flegel was a member of First M. E. OBIT: Relatives and friends of the William Foor family were pained to learn today of the death of William Foor which occurred at the family home one-half mile south of Athens, this morning, at 6 o'clock. Mr. Foor who is past the three score mark in life's journey has been ailing for some time and his death was not wholly unexpected. For the past several weeks he gradually grew worse until the end. He was always one of the progressive farmers of Henry township and carried the high esteem of a wide circle of friends, who extend sympathy to the bereaved family. Death claimed another victim, this morning in the person of John HAIMBAUGH, who lived with his son, John HAIMBAUGH, near Marshtown. He died at the ripe old age of 85 years, after a short illness.
Mr. Haimbaugh was born in Fairfield county, Ohio, January 18, 1818 and lived there until the year 1859 when he moved to Indiana where he has remained ever since, having resided in Newcastle township for about 40 years and up until April of this year when he moved with his son to the place where death came to him.
He was a member of the Yellow Creek Baptist church, of Newcastle township, for 40 years and at the time of his death was a deacon in the same church. A wife, one son and six grandchildren and hosts of relatives and friends remain to mourn the loss of a husband, father and an upright man.
The funeral services will be held at the Yellow Creek church, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and interment will be made in the church cemetery.

1924 - Stating that the services rendered by the plaintiff, Nellie Kistler, during the last years of the late Elijah kistler, were voluntary, van T. Kistler, one of the administrators of the estate filed his answer in Common Pleas court today. The administrator admits that the deceased owned 142 acres of farm land and that the plaintiff together with her husband, Charles Kistler, lived at the home of the deceased and the services rendered were for common benefit. OBIT: Death Claims Mrs. Nellie Kistler. Mrs. Nellie M. Kistler passed away at 5:15 o'clock this morning at the home [421?] Garfield avenue after a long illness. She is survived by four sons Rollie of Lithopolis, Gerald, Forest and Paul Kistler of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Luther Baker and Mrs. Ida Kiger, also three grandchildren. OBIT: Carl C. Stover - Rockford. Carl C. Stover, 69, Rockford, an employee of the Continental Can Company, Van Wert, died at 4 a.m. Saturday at his residence after an illness of 7 months. Born March 18, 1890 in Black Creek Twp., Mercer County, he was a son of Daniel and Sarah Skinner Stover. He had lived around Rockford most of his life. He was married March 12, 1913, to Florence Foor who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Russell Howell of Rt. 2, Rockford, Mrs. Francis Dayles of Wilshire, Mrs. Leoyr Hill of Lincoln Park, Mich., and Mrs. S. W. Burtchin of Lima; two sons, D. W. Stover of Radnor, and Max Stover of Fairfield; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Profit. One daughter, Virginia, is deceased. Mr. Stover was a member of the Rockford EUB Church where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City. [Lima News, Lima, Ohio, April 19, 1959]
