Under Rebecca's information, also on page 215, it says she's Solomon's second
wife. There are no dates for Susannah.

Page 378, "Cemeteries of Bloom Township, Fairfield County, OH", Fairfield Co., Ohio, Chapter OGS, 1996, it shows just "Susan, wife of Solomin L", no dates.

This is so very odd that two Solomon Foor's, one born 1828, the other 1830, both married first a Susannah M. It is hard to keep the families separate.

[2005] NAME: "The Foor Family", George S. Conover, p 37

DOB: "Case Families of Ogden Twp., Lenawee Co., MI", by Janis W. Reister, as seen at RootsWeb. "Lived in Roscommon, MI after marriage". Janis shows her DOB as 08 Oct 1854.

DOB/DOD/POB/DOM's/POM's: From obituary and lineage submitted to the World Connect Project at RootsWeb by Keith Larzelere

Obituary of Maria (Foor-Larzelere) Sackett, transcribed by Keith Larzelere from a copy of the original item as published in the Clinton Local newspaper of Clinton, Lenawee Co., MI. on Aug. 19, 1926-----
" Mrs. Maria Sackett, who had been in feeble health many years, died at her home on the McCombs farm north of town Sunday night at 10 o'clock.
Since last fall she had been failing rapidly, and died as the result of a paralytic stroke from which she never rallied.
Maria Foor was born in Roscoe, Frederic Co., Pa., November 8, 1855. She came to Michigan with her parents when about seven years of age. The family settled first near Blissfield, afterwards removing to the vicinity of Clinton.
She was married to George Larzelere, who died after 12 years of married life. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive. They are Charles Larzelere and Mrs. Alta Griffin of California, Mrs. William Nortley and Mrs. Thurza Tripp of Evans lake. She was married a second time to Milford Sackett of Franklin township. To this union one son, Leon, was born.
After the death of Mr. Sackett, she lived part of the time with her children and part of the time at the home of her step-son, Milford Sackett. A few years ago she moved to the village of Clinton and then to the residence north of here, where she passed to the world beyond, August 15, 1926.
Besides her own children already named she is survived by two step-children, John and Milton Sackett, three brothers, Burton Foor of Franklin township, Will Foor of Manchester, Elmer Foor of Norvell, two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Scott of Roscommon, Mrs. Lela M. Gary of Toledo, and one half-brother, David Foor, of Colon, three brothers and one sister having preceded her in death. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sackett was a member of the Congregational church of Clinton.
The funeral was held from the home north of Clinton Wednesday afternoon and the burial was at Reynold's Corners Cemetery."

DOB/POB: Janice Casler via October 2000 email says she was born 08 Oct 1854 in Bedford Co., PA. Note the one year difference in birth year, and different locale of birth, than the obituary.

"A large number of settlers came to Amanda in 1829 and 1830, all of whom brought families, Among those best remembered are David Morehart, Adam Alspach, Lemuel Farthing, David Egbert, Henry Treese, John G. Litsenberger, John Dipert, Darius Smith and Sanford Smith. David and Elizabeth (Fenstemaker) Morehart were natives of Pennsylvania, who first located in Fairfield County, Ohio. Attended school in Bloom Twp and later engaged in teaming, farming and butchering. Well known, highly respected, and "on numerous occasions had been elected to township office serving as councilman and also as a school director".

Obit; unknown publication; Sherman Monroe Oyler, son of Lewis and Angeline Oyler, was born in Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH, April 17, 1865 and died at Columbus, Ohio, November 15, 1907, aged 42y 6m 28d. For 23 years he was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Lithopolis, and served the church for several years in the capacity of a trustee. He has been a member of the village council and school board, and an ardent advocate of temperence. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge of Canal Winchester, and had the first degrees of the Order of Free Masons. April 18, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Hunter, and their union was blessed with two sons and one daughter. They remember the deceased as a kind and affectionate husband and father. Brother Oyler's sickness was of scarcely two weeks' duration, and was severe from the beginning. Though the best medical aid was summoned, death could not be averted. Friday, ere the morning sun had kissed the earth with it's cheerful light, his suffering soul was ushered into its larger day. The sorrow of his loved ones is sweetened by the assurance which he expressed in the future. He was preceded into the spirit world by his mother, one brother and two sisters. His wife, three children, an aged father, three brothers, five sisters, and a large circle of relatives and friends will sadly miss the aid and comfort of his precense. The funeral was held in the M. E. Church in Lithopolis Sunday, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Hartshorn. Burial in Lithopolis Cem. Winchester Lodge #125, Knights of Pythias, and Red Rose Temple #206, Pythian sisters, of Canal Winchester, attended in a body, over a hundred members from the combined orders being present to take part in the sad funeral rites. The funeral was attended by nearly a thousand people, not half of whom could get into the church, and many of whom came from a distance. Relatives in attendance from a distance were A. C. Hunter and family, Samuel Oyler, Mrs. A. J. Myers and Mrs. Nathan Smith of Columbus; Rufus Foor and wife, Orlando Foor and wife, and Sherman Foor of Delaware; W. J. George WEISZ

21 Jun 1793 - 10 Mar 1859

Family 1 :
  1. +Israel Shuman WEISZ Rev

[4208]
Original data: Shuman, William C.. The George Shuman family : genealogy and history, from the time of arrival in America, in 1760, to the year 1913. Evanston, Ill.: W.C. Shuman, 1913.

"George Weisz was born in Northumberland Co., Pa., on the 21st of June, 1793." Parents were Christopher and Elizabeth (MUCK) Weisz. Mother was the d/o George and Barbara Muck. "When about 119... he joined a company of volunteers under Capt. Nerr Middlesworth, of Union county, PA, to serve in the war of 1812. He was appointed quartermaster, but before his regiment could join the army under Hull, that general had surrendered to the British commander. Shortly after this, he began his study for the ministry.

"His tuition was first under the Reverand Isaac Gerhard, and subsequently under the Rev. Dr. Helfenstein, senior, in Philadelphia. At a metting of the German Reformed synod in New Holland, Lancaster Co., PA., he was commissioned to visit Lancaster, Ohio, whence letters had reached the synod, earnestly calling for ministers.

"He reached Lancaster, Ohio, on the 20th of October 1816, and spent about two months in missionary work. After his return to the east, he resumed his studies under Dr. Helfenstein in Philadelphia, and in 1817 he was ordained to the gospel ministry by the German Reformed synod in York, PA. Arriving in Lancaster, Ohio, on the 11th of October following, he commenced his pastoral labors in the four counties, Fairfield, Perry, Pickaway and Ross, organizing congregations, preaching on the Sabbath and often on week days, instructing the young in catechism and attending to other pastoral duties.

"In aug. 24, 1819, he m. Catharine Shuman, of Millerstown, Cumberland Co., PA., on the Juniata rivver, the Rev. Isaac Gerhard performing the ceremony. Sept. 5th following, he attended the meeting of the synot in Lancaster, PA., and on the 25th of October, 1819, he with his newly wedded wife started for Ohio, to resume his labors in his large pastoral field.

"From his memorandum book it appears that they were fifteen days on their way from Millerstown, Perry Co., PA., to Lancaster, Ohio. This indicates the fatigue of such a trip in that early day.

"The homestead of Rev. George Weisz and Catharine, his wife, where all their children were born and reared, was deeed to George Weisz in 1819. At the death of Catherine, in 1865, Dr. Henry Crider purchased the property, and here Dr. Crider's family resided until the death, in 1897, of his wife, Sarah Weisz Crider, when it was sold into the hands of strangers.

"In his pastoral relation, Father Weisz was 'a workman who needed not to be ashamed'. His labors were arduous, supplying, as he did at first, some thirteen congregations which were scattered over four counties, at distances from each other varying from twenty to fifty-six miles. In process of time he formed new pastoral charges. Before the founding of the theological seminary at Lancaster, Ohio, he received and instructed in his own house seven young men and prepared them for the ministry.

"For about three years previous to his demise, Father Weisz could endure no hard exposure. He preaced occasionally and always with surprising perspicuity and power. His last sermon was preached on the 19th of December, 1858, in the German Reformed church of Lancaster, Ohio, on the text: Arise, shine, for thye light is com, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

"His death occurred March 10, 1859. In his last moments he spoke calmly but feebly; and gradually falling asleep, the mild rays of life seemed still to linger on his serene, though pale, features.
