1917 - Presiding in probate court today Judge Freeman dismissed for want of
jurisdiction claims by B. F. Stoltey, Elizabeth Wnedling Stoltey and the
First Church of Christ Scientist against the estate of Amanda C. Koch, late
of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Stoltey, who are practitioners in the Christian
Science church, presented claims aggregating $140 for readings conducted at
the bedside of Mrs. Koch during her last illness. Mrs. Hoy, daughter of Mrs.
Koch and administrator of the estate, is a Christian Scientist and was
willing to pay for the readings. The other daughter, Mrs. Mahalah Birdzell
of Champaign is a non-believer in that faith however, and refused to sign a
chock jointly with mrs. Hoy against the estate's account in the Citizens bank
of Champaign. The readers and the church then presented three claims against
the estate which were disposed of by Judge Freeman today. [Urbana Daily

NOTE: This person does not appear in the 1930 census with her family, and according to her obit, she was born in January of 1930 and should have been listed with them.
NAME/DOB: "The Foor Family", George S. Conover, p 25. This text shows her birth year as 1936, which seems more likely than the 1930 shown in the obit. I would think that the 1930 may have just been a typo in the obit, but it also says she was 77 years old.
LOCATION: 1978 - listed as a surviving sister, Mrs. Anna Fluke of Mechanicsburg in sister Lois's Aug. 1978 obit.

Annie Lee Fluke Waple, age 77, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born January 21, 1930 in Broad Top Township, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Norris Foor.
Annie retired from Fry Communications in Mechanicsburg and was member of the Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Dale Fluke.
Surviving are her husband, Marion "Pat" Waple; two daughters, Linda and husband, Nevin Wevodau, and Cheryl and husband, Randy Sprout; two step daughters, Janice and husband, Dave Kirby, all of Mechanicsburg, Betsy and husband, Jim Evans of Bellwood, PA; three brothers, Victor Foor of Dillsburg, Henry Foor of Arizona, and Robert Foor; four sisters, Eunice Rush, Laura Ritchey, and Helena Bowman, all of Everett, PA, Ruth Ford of Mechanicsburg; and six grandchildren, Amber and Crystal Evans, Alex Kirby, Bradley and Ashley Sprout, and Matthew Wevodau.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2007 at her church, with a visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren Building Fund, 205 Gale Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2040 Linglestown Road, Suite 104, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or Diabetes Foundation, 1104 Fernwood Avenue Suite 500, Camp Hill, PA 17011.

NOTE: I went to the funeral home website to see if her date of birth was listed as 1936 rather than 1930. It was. They displayed the same incorrect obituary as above, but above that obit they list her date of birth as January 21, 1936.

"Then, in the same neighborhood of the elder Harris was the farm of Daniel Foor. He, too, was always found at the Methodist services. And how he did enjoy them! In the scroll of memory I still see him, sitting in what was then called the 'Amen Corner', near the pulpit, with his head thrown back, and his strong bass voice roaring the words of the song, 'What a friend I have in Jesus'. Many years have rolled by since he went to meet that friend. A member of his family, known to me only as 'Granny' Brakebill, was a great friend of my mother. But I dod not know, never did, what relation she bore to the household. The term Granny was then used as one of the greatest respect." "THE VILLAGE. I've tried searching for ANY David or Sarah (regardless of last name) born between 1849-1851 in Fairfield, Franklin, and Pickaway counties to see if I could find the family. No luck.
