The following appeared in the Wapello Republican, Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa, on February, 14, 1929:
Marshall D. Ament, age 81, and a veteran of the Civil war, died Sunday morning at 9 o'clock at his home on south Main street. He had not been well for some time, but his condition was not considered serious until Friday when he took a sudden turn for the worse and continued to grow weaker until the final summons came.
Marshall David Ament was born June 22, 1847, near Warsaw, Ill., and died at Wapello, Iowa, February 10, 1929, at 9 a.m. At the age of 18 years, on March 25, 1865, he enlisted in the U. S. Army as a private in Company G, 58th regiment, Illinois Infantry volunteers, and was discharged from service November 2, 1865.
On September 3, 1873, Mr. Ament was united in marriage with Mary Catherine Davison, who with eight children, survives. They are: William E. Ament, of Peoria, Ill.; Joseph Clyde Ament, of Warsaw, Ill.; John, Everett, Mrs. Julia Thirtyacre, Marshall D. Jr., and Raymond, all of Wapello, and Mrs. J. O. Ruble of Davenport, Iowa. He is also survived by one half brother, Elmer Akers, of Chanute, Kans., 43 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The Ament family came to Wapello from Illinois November 6, 1912, and located on a farm where they lived until the spring of 1913 when they moved to this city which has since been their home.
Funeral services were held from ***(unreadable)*** Rev. B. G. Haskins, assited by Rev. C.E. Ward and Rev. Jesse Huddle.
The body was laid to rest in the Wapello cemetary and buried with military honors.

OBIT: Juanita M. Shadle, 96, formerly of Millersport, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Sunbridge Nursing Center. She retired from Lazarus as a restaurant manager.
She is survived by daughter, Mildred Games of Thurston; special son, Terry Long of Thornville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff at Sunbridge for their loving care of Juanita.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grandville Shadle; son, Carl Sowers; and daughter, Betty Sheeter.
A Caring Cremation has taken place by Johnson-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory, Baltimore. Burial will take place at Lithopolis Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Millersport Fire Department in Juanita's memory.

The following Obit. is from the Everett Press 24 Apr 1908;
MRS. T. K. ROSE
A very sad and distressing accident occurred at Bedford, Wednesday morning last, when Mrs. T. K. ROSE was burned to such an extent that she died within a few hours after the accident. She was cleaning the garden near her home and was in the act of burning some brush, when her clothing took fire. Upon discovering this, she ran into the house in a mass of flames. The hair was burned from her head and other parts of her body badly charred. The accident occurred about 10 o'clock and she died about 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
Her maiden name was Mary E. PENNELL and she was born in Colerain township, August 23, 1834.
She was twice married. Her first husband was A. J. DAVIS, who died a number of years ago. Surviving her is her second husband and the following children by her first husband; Mrs. Mollie MOWERY, of Everett; John H. DAVIS, of Cumberland Valley; Mrs. Edwin FOOR, of Colerain Township; Mrs. ZINN, of Indiana County, PA; Mrs. J. H. GUMP, of Rainsburg, and Mrs. Josephine IMES; also one brother, A. J. PENNELL, of Rainsburg, survives.
The funeral services will be conducted this Friday morning by Rev. M. L. Culler of the Lutheran church. Interment will be made in the Bedford Cemetery.
