I have a hand written letter from my great great uncle, David Forrest Foor (1868-1949) that indicates that David Young Foor (his father) was born in Brown County, Ohio (1824-1889) to an old German by the name of Foor (am suspecting this is Joseph), who after his first family were grown married an Irish girl by the name of O'Riley (her father a revolutionary soldier who as a great admirer of Gen. Washington, and was with him at Valley Forge).
David Young Foor married Jedida Birdsel in Ohio. Her father was an English Quaker. Her maiden name was Butler. David Young was an apprentice to a cabinet maker in Cincinnati, Ohio and in his early 20's opened the first furniture store in Covington, Kentucky (1846 or 47). We have a bed he made. Have passed it down to my brother's son.
In 1853 David Young sold the store and moved to Lewis County, Missouri and homesteaded 120 acres and lived there until his death.
David Young and Jedidah had 9 children (I only have 8 names)" From Betty FOOR, d/o Harry Lee Foor, via Sept. 2006 email.

I have no further info on that Robert b abt 1916, 2. This Robert J. Foor married a FEATHERS, and Aldon Foor, another son of Carl Franklin Foor, also married a FEATHERS. Also, there was a mention in the newspaper that an "Eleanor Lee Foor" was visiting her cousins, LaDonna Kae Foor and Bonnie Rae Foor. "For fourteen years Jerome C. McKinley has been residing in York County and in this time has built up an enviable reputation as a physician and surgeon. He is a native son of Ohio, born in that state on the 10th of October, 1861, in Fairfield County. His parents were James and Effie (Courtright) McKinley, the former born in Scotland, while the latter was a native of Fairfield county, Ohio. James McKinley came to Ohio with his parents when he was quite young and here he met and married his wife. He engaged for many years in farming but enjoyed a few years of retirement in Lithopolis. His death occurred at the age of 69 years and Mrs. McKinley was called to another life at the age of 42 years. Ten children were born to this union, four of whom are living: Mrs. Maggie Glick, who is a widow and resides in Lithopolis; J. Andrew, a retired cattle-man of Columbus, Ohio; J. F., a druggist of Leigh, Nebraska; and Jerome C., the subject of this review." Source: Original data: York County, Nebraska and its people : together with a condensed history of the state. LOCATION: 1918 - Wednesday evening, April 24, the Misses Susan and Alice Baugher of 125 South Grant AVenue, Columbus, opened their home from 6 to 10 to about fifty Columbus residents who were their fellow townsmen twenty years ago in Lithopolis. The misses Baugher are granddaughters of Frederick Baugher who founded the village in 1814 and the party had therefore, something of a special interest to the guests. More than anything else, however, it was a reunion of men and women who were once closely associated in the village, but who since leaving it had seen each other and the hostesses only very infrequently or not at all. As a consequence, the renewing of former neighborly associations, the retelling of the old local stories and the recreating of the old town atmostphere made up a most important part of the evening's pleasure. Immediately after an excellent lunch of ice cream, cake, sandwiches and coffee had been served, Mr. Edwin S. Stotz called the group to order. In a pleasing and feeling manner Mr. Stotz then presented the Misses Baugher with several tokens of the esteem in which they are held by their former neighbors, this being the only part of the program that had been kept secret from the hostesses.
