(the '2' is the number in question), aged 25y. A prior reading showed it said "Passow, Mary, wife of Christian". Possibly on the same stone is "Elias, son of Christian, aged 5m 5d", or aged 5m 7d, who died 6 July 1862. If it's "5m 7d", that works out to Elias's date of birth being the same date as his mother Mary died, so she must have died in childbirth.

Foor (who in fact was married to Elnora Drenning and is buried next to her)
and his mother as Jane Swartz. I haven't had time to look into this any
further, but, my mom found in the family Bible where Harry Foor's mother is
listed as Jane Swartz, also. "

"From what my grandma says, Jane Horton Swartz (Swartz being a married name)
was never married to Cornelius Foor. Actually, it sounds like Cornelius was
married to Elnora at the time Jane concieved Harry. Elnora and Cornelius
are buried in White Church (aka Evans) Cemetery. I was going to take a
picture but didn't have my camera during my visit. Harry L. and Margaret
Edna Foor are buried in Rays Cove Cemetery" From Jeanette via email October 1999, a911type@hotmail.com.

[17911] NAME: Info submitted by Jesse David to GenCircles, database online, last updated October 2001.

"Williamsburg is a small community, which explains how just hours after native son Spc. Chad Edmundson, 20, died Wednesday in Iraq, a makeshift memorial was established in his honor at High and Second streets.

By early Thursday afternoon, members of the Edmundson family were placing flowers on the dirt plot next to the First National Bank of Pennsylvania. A sign resting on a cross said, "Remember Chad."

Bank manager Dave Cadle said the land next to the bank was already rimmed with American flags in celebration of Memorial Day.

Cadle, known to the young people of Williamsburg as "Coach," said Edmundson often attended Crossroads, a Christian youth group led by Cadle. He said establishing the memorial was "the right thing to do."

"We prayed with him," Cadle said as he remembered the soldier who graduated less than a year ago from Williamsburg Community High School in a class of 48 students.

Word spread quickly through the small community, Cadle said.

"If anybody dies younger than me, it's not right. ... He was always a fine young man, very respectful," he said.

As Edmundson's 12-year-old brother, Alex, placed flowers around the memorial, their stepsister, Stephanie Foor, 19, cried in the arms of a friend. She spoke softly to BeBe LeBang, the young high school exchange student from Thailand who lived this year with the Edmundson family at 30 Bluebird Drive.

"I don't consider him a stepbrother. ... He was a good brother," Foor said amid her tears.

HOLMES, SARAH [Newcastle Township]
BIOGRAPHY
Sarah Holmes. - Mrs. Sarah Holmes, the subject of this sketch, is the daughter of Henry Haimbaugh, Sr., mentioned elsewhere in this work. She was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, November 13, 1833. She lived on the farm with her parents, obtaining such an education as she could acquire in the common schools of her native vicinity, until, in her eighteenth year, she was united in marriage, on August 17, 1851, to Andrew J. Holmes, of Richland County, Ohio. Mr. Holmes was born May 2, 1830, and was educated in his native county. Upon the call of his country, he entered the service when but a mere boy, and did valuable service in the conflict with Mexico. In 1855, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes immigrated to Fulton County, Ind., and located in Newcastle Township, where Mr. Holmes purchased eighty acres of land and engaged in farming. They both united with the Yellow Creek Baptist Church, of which she is still an acceptable member. Mr. H. was quite a prominent man in the history of his adopted county from his first settlement therein, and in the year 1858 was elected County Auditor, and re-elected in 1862, occupying that position eight years. Mr. Holmes was an active, energetic, business man, and was favorably known as a member of the orders of Masonry and Odd Fellowship, occupying prominent positions in these orders at home, and also in their Grand Lodge. On the 26th of April, 1869, he was acting as Marshal in an Odd Fellows anniversary celebration, when he was thrown from his horse and severely injured, from the effects of which he died two days later, universally lamented. His kind disposition, undoubted integrity, great business qualities and close identity with the interests of his county, made his death a great calamity. He had accumulated quite a large estate, the most of which is retained in the family by the industry and good management of Mrs. H. To these parents were born seven children--Clara A., Mary L., Obadiah, Ella, an infant son deceased at the age of two weeks, John B. and Nora. Clara and Obadiah have since deceased, and Mary and Ella are married, while John and Nora are yet under the maternal roof.
[T. B. Helm, Fulton County Atlas, A. L. Kingman, 1883, p. 49]

OBIT: Mrs. Sarah Holmes, one of the pioneer residents of Fulton county and a universally respected and admired woman, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Fultz, northeast of Rochester, Thursday evening at seven o'clock. The cause of the death was pneumonia, which resulted from a cold contracted sometime ago. Mrs. Holmes was the widow of Andrew J. Holmes, a prominent citizen of the county who died in 1869 as result of an accident while horseback riding. The deceased was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, in 1830, but an early age remoevd to Kosciusko county, Indiana, and still later to Fulton county, where she resided practically all her life on the farm where she died. Early in life Mrs. Holmes became a meber of the Lutheran Church, but later united with the Baptist faith. Three daughter, Mrs. Ed (Nora L. Holmes) Fultz, of this city; Mrs. Ella Haimbaugh, of Peru; Mrs. Nelson G. (Mary L. Holmes) Hunter, of Wabash and one son, John Holmes, survive. The funeral services will be conducted at the Baptist church in this city Sunday morning at 12 o'clock, Rev. Bender of Akron officiating, assisted by Rev. O. P. Miles. She was the only child of Nelson and Barbara Hempleman, and lived her entire life in Bloom Twp. On Jan. 1, 1904, she was united in marriage to Raymond Ray Ruble. This union proved to be a most happy one in which husband and wife shared deep devotion and mental love for a period of thirteen years. To this union were born two children, Retha Irene and Denver Harold, who are left as little rosebuts to adorn her pathway. Mrs. Ruble was baptized in infancy and consecrated to the service of Christ and at a very tender age was united in Christian fellowship with the Salem United Brethren Church of which she was a faithful, devout and true Christian until she was promoted to her heavenly home. The house of many mansions. She was a most devoted and loving companion and wife, a tender and precious mother, a kind neighbor, and while her going from us has left a vacant place in the home and community, we will never forget her beautiful life, the influence of which will ever abide in our hearts. For we can cherish nothing in our hearts but the fondest recollections of her cheerful disposition and loving ways. She bore a long and tedius illness for the past two years without a murmur of complaint, and while life was sweet to her, her confidence in the Lord and Master gave her true grace and fortitude to meet death which she often said would bring her the only true relief. She bore her suffering with patience, cheerfulness an Christian fortitude which was sublime. In her life the church had a beautiful character, in death the community has lost one of her best citizens. One who was kind, lovable and true. Today we look with love and wonder upon her silent grace, sweet and beautiful indeed is such a life in the home, church and community; there is no such power as a Christian mother who can measure her influence. The world is richer and better for the personage of such souls, and they leave behind an abiding influence for good, while she was a great sufferer, she did not come own to her last hours gloomy and sad. When sickness came she trusted in God and his promises. In her afflictions she showed the tenderness of God's care, the ruthfulness of his promisses, the support of his everlasting arms. Sweetly trusting in God we had findly hoped and prayed that her life might be spared to her companion and precious children, but God who does all things well has called her and bow in submission to his divine will. The battle has been fought, the victory won, life's tasks completed, and she is at rest. The fragrance of her pure life will long live to bless the world, being dead she yet speaks to us. The silver cord passed. God has called her to her heavenly home where we shall meet her again. May God's richest blessings rest upon this husband and these dear children, this aged mother, and the large number of friends and relatives who mourn the loss of a companion, child, mother and friend. Today we bow our heads in silence and say God is the will of the Lord concerning me. Precious is the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Precious and beautiful. Services were conducted at Betzers Reform Church. Rev. Geo. F. Hughes of Crooksville officiated, assisted by Rev. Burtner of Canal Winchester U. B. Church. COMMEMRATIVE HISTORICAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD OF WOOD COUNTY, OHIO; ITS PAST AND PRESENT, CHICAGO: J. H. BEERS & CO., 1897, pp 1164-1165.

LEWIS CRAMER, a wealthy citizen of Bowling Green, and now retired from active life, was born April 6, 1830, in Fairfield county, Ohio, a son of Jacob and Louisa (Moore) Cramer.

The great-grandfather of our subject, on the paternal side, was born in Germany, and, when ten years old, came to America with his parents. They located in Pennsylvania, in what was then known as Penn's Valley. He was a farmer by occupation, and a soldier and pension, of the Revolutionary army. Lewis Cramer, the grandfather of our subject, was a resident of Fairfield county, Ohio, where he died when nearly seventy years of age. In the early part of his life he was a farmer, and a minister in the United Brethren Church, afterward, in that county, operating a flouring-mill and sawmill, by water-power, on Walnut creek. He was one of a large family of children, the following being the names of some of them: Lewis, Philip, John, Michael, Adam, Jacob, George, and Sarah. Lewis became the father of eight children, namely: Jacob, George,' Adam, Lewis, Sarah, Margaret, Mary and Christina.

Jacob Cramer, the father of our subject, was born in Pennsylvania, in 1808, was married in Fairfield county, Ohio, to Louisa Moore, who died in Fairfield county, in 1836, at the age of thirty-three. They followed farming for many years. Jacob was three times married, having five children by his first wife, namely: Levi, who died in Wood county, when sixty-one years old; Susan, married to Daniel Knepper, of Fairfield county, and died when about twenty years of age; our subject; Irvin, who enlisted from Fairfield county, in the regular army, during the Civil war, and died in-Libby prison; and Louisa, marrieed to Henry Knepper, and now residing near Carey, Wyandot county. Mr. Cramer's second marriage was to Miss. Sarah Derr, and of this union three children were born: William, who died when seven years old; Margaret, who is married, and residing in Lancaster, Ohio; Sarah, married, and living near Warsaw, Ind. Jacob Cramer's third wife Was Mrs. Annie Moore (widow or George Moore), by whom he had no children. Mr. Cramer died in Ohio, about the year 1873. Mrs. Louisa (Moore) Cramer, mother of our subject, was a daughter of Levi and Mary (Bright) Moore, natives of Delaware, and who were among the first settlers of Fairfield county, where they followed farming. They were the parents of several children, named respectively: John, Louisa, Edward, Abigail, George, Elizabeth, Sarah, Levi, and Erwin. The father was very highly respected citizen, and a leader among men. Both parents died on the farm they had settled on.

The subject of this sketch grew to manhood in Fairfield county, remaining on the home farm with his father until he was some twenty-two years old, when he moved to Hancock county, on to a new farm, whereon he lived twenty-one years, and then came to Wood county. At the age of twenty-three he married Miss Martha Carnes, who, died in l852, and December 13, 1855, for his second wife, he wedded Miss Jennie Black. In 1876 he purchased land in what was then the suburbs of Bowling Green, but which is now a part of the city, and has an elegant and comfortable home. He has spent a busy life, dealing in real-estate, flour-milling and loaning his money; but is now taking his ease and comfort, his chief occupation being to look after his property, and his interest in the Union Flouring Mills of the city, of which he is one of the proprietors. Mr. Cramer .cast his first Presidential vote for James K. Polk, his last Democratic vote going for James Buchanan, and for many years past has exerted his influence in behalf of the Republican party. He is a member of the United Brethren Church, liberal in his contributions to all worthy causes, and is highly regarded as one of the valuable citizens of Bowling Green. Mrs. Cramer was born in Fairfield county, in 1838, and is a daughter of Lemuel and Sarah (Bogart) Black, the former of whom was born in Fairfield county, the latter near Reading, Penn. Mr. Black was a wheelwright and chairmaker by trade, and when died about sixty-five years old, a member of the United Brethren Church; his wife died in June, 1894, aged eighty-two years. Lemuel Black was the son of John Black, who was of Scottish descent, and whose family comprised six children: Lemuel, Ira, John, Millie, Susan, and Catherine. Mrs. Cramer was the eldest of seven children, the others being Maggie and Martin, both deceased; William, living at Findlay, Ohio; Elroy, living in Smithton, Mo. ; Elmer and Cloe K., living in Hancock county. Mrs. Cramer died suddenly at Bowling Green, mourned by many friends by whom she was beloved, and held in the higheSt respect for her many virtues, her amiability, and her sweet disposition.
