DOD/POD: Name listed as Ina A. Soliday, resided and died in Lancaster, Fairfield Co., Ohio, 25 Dec 1969. Died in a long-term care facility. Widow, aged 90. Ancestry.com and Ohio Department of Health. Ohio Deaths, 1908-1932, 1938-1944, and 1958-2002 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: The Generations Network, Inc., 2006.

NOTE: The reason I have census extractions listed for 1850 and 1860 was to try and trace her lineage. I found it odd that there were so many Courtright families of the area but couldn't find a connection to this Ina. Yet somehow, Ina came all the way from the KS and IL area to live in Fairfield Co., Ohio, where so many Courtright families resided. Many of her father Samuel's children were born in Ohio -- and it may have been Fairfield Co., Ohio. No one has posted a lineage of this specific Samuel Courtright at ancestry.com, either.

Death: 21 MAR 1905, age 48. Maria Ellen Scheffler departed this life at her home in Lithopolis, O. at the age of 48 years, 10 months and 6 days. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her husband and three children, her mother, brother and sister and a large circle of relatives and friends. Her father and one child preceded her into eternity. In infancy she was baptized by Rev. Father Langes of Lancaster, O. She was instructed by Rev. Father Deala and made her first communion at the age of twelve years. She was united in marriage March 28, 1873, to Perry Lehmannn by Rev. Joseph Beck. To this union were born four children, Frank Lehman, Mrs. John Crepp of Columbus, and Maggie Lehman; one child, Edwin, dying in infancy. She was instructed by Pastor O.S. Oglesby and was taken into communicaut membership with St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church by the rite of confirmation April 21, 1889. She remained true to her confession of faith, living in that steadfast faith which brings sweet consolation to wary souls in time of tribulation. As a mother she was true and faithful to all the duties of the home, spending her time and strength for the welfare of her loved ones. As a neighbor, she was always ready to do her part in any public work. The esteem in which she has held may be seen, in part, in the vast throng of people, who in sorrow attended her funeral. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. O.W. Weber, from St. John's Lutheran church, Thursday, March 23, 1905, at 2 p.m. Interment in Lithopolis cemetery. It seems sad to part with loved ones under any circumstances, especially so, when their place in the home cannot be filled. Many watched, hoped and prayed with eager hearts for the recovery of their loved one, but it was not God's will. "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Our consolation in this hour of affiction is the hope of salvation in Christ Jesus. Mr. C.P. Lehman and family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all the many friends and neighbors who assistd them so kindly during the short illness of the wife and mother. Whereas, It has pleased Almighty God, in His wise Providence, to resolved. Resolved, That the Ladies Aid Society of which the deceased was a faithful and active member, deeply deplore at her departure as a great loss. Resolved, That while we humbly sumbit to the unsearchable but wise will of God, we are confident that the Lord has done well unto his servant. Resolved, That we express our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family, and commend them to the care of Him who doeth all things well. Resolved, That these resolutions be published, and a copy of them handed to the bereaved family. Mrs. Wm. Long, Mrs. J.L. Faler, Mrs. O.W. Weber. The following friends were present from a distance to attend the funeral of Mrs. Perry Lehman: Mrs. Stair, Newark; Mesdames Otney, Pearce, Timmes, Miss Clara Timmes, Mrs. John Timmes, Mrs. Elisha Lehman, John Otney, Lancaster; Mrs. Mary Lewis, Cleveland, Miss Louise Scheffler, Junction City; Elisha Lehman and son, Royalton; Sol Lehma, Bremen; E.S. Stotz and family, Wilbur Lehman and wife, Mrs. Ema Brown and family, Mr. Killits and wife, Mrs. Emma Zangmaster and family, Mr. Simonton and family, Mrs. Wm. Simonton, Harry Simonton and wife, Mesdames Heyel, S. W. Blackwood, Jennie Bowers, and Sallee, Miss Daisy Bierney Messrs. David Lehman and William Arnold, of Columbus; Alice Bradley, Kokomo, Ind.

1874 -

"DEAD. The Terrible Heart Disease. Sleeping the Sleep that Knows No Waking." On Tuesday morning last, Mrs. Angeline Foor, wife of Joshua Foor, Esq., of Biglick Township, this county, was found dead in her bed from heart disease. Mrs. Foor had been troubled for some years previous to her death with this terrible malady, and during the past few weeks more than usual. This was due to the fact that she was compelled to carry water for family use from a neighbor's some distance away. The exertion of working the pump was exeedingly painful to her and she frequently complained of it. On the evening previous to her death she was in good spirits, and after eating a hearty supper, retired. Mrs. Foor slept in one of the apartments of the house with two of the children, while her husband occupied a room adjoining, with another younger member of the family. Nothing unusual was noticed during the night--the household resting in quiet slumber, unconscious of the weight of sorrow that was to fall upon them when the morning light appeared. Mr. Foor arose first in the morning, and going to his wife's room found her dead. She was lying as if in slumber, a calm and peacful expression was upon her face and her attitude one of quiet repose. Two of her children were at her side in an easy sleep from which they could be awakened with the slightest sound, while the mother was sleeping the sleep that knows no waking. As soon as Mrs. Foor's death was known, the Coroner, F. J. Karst, was summoned. He called to his assistance Dr. Wm. Detwiler, and the two went to the residence of Mr. Foor. A careful examination of the person of the deceased was made by Dr. Detwiler, the members of the family and neighbors questioned by the Coroner, and finding the facts as we have stated them, no jury was summoned in the case, the physician and officer retiring, leaving the mourning ones alone with their dead. Mrs. Foor was about 40 years of age, and was a women [sic] esteemed by all who knew her. The family and friends have the sympathy of the entire community". [The Findlay Jeffersonian, Findlay, Hancock Co., Ohio, Friday, Oct. 23, 1874].
